About Jiffyit

Why JIFFFY IT?
While the concept of E-hail services like, Lyft, Uber and Bolt have become popular with both drivers and riders, drivers have in the last year or so, have become discontented with uber for three main reasons: -
1, Drop in earnings for uber drivers
Drivers around the world have held protests and vented their anger on social media due to a deterioration in income caused by high commission rates charged by uber.
2, Unjustified deactivation of uber drivers
Drivers can be prevented from working without any proof of wrongdoing of unjustified negative feedback, in some cases, losing several days of income.
It doesn’t end there!
With traditional cash-based taxi services, drivers keep 100% of the fare paid by the rider and the driver pays the taxi firm a weekly fee for using their service. With uber, the rider pays uber the fare who then takes a commission on every trip which varies from job to job, known as dynamic pricing.
And this is the issue! Dynamic pricing means the driver does not know how much the rider is paying or what commission the company is taking at the time of job being offered. Likewise, the rider does not know what the driver receives, many riders think the driver receives the full fare.
There is also the addition of surge pricing!
Surge pricing happens when the number of riders exceeds the number of cars available, this can be costly to the rider with fares going up by 1-5 times the normal rate! While this may be good for the driver, it often only lasts for a short while, for the rest of the time, drivers receive a flat rate regardless of the time and day of week, this could mean working unsociable hours for flat rate!
Result!
On one hand, we have riders holding back while prices are surging, then there are drivers rejecting jobs because they are too far away, or the commission rate is too high.
Where is the sense in that!

Drivers have had enough, so much so that a group of London drivers have gotten together to build their own app, called Nuff, a shortened form of Enough!
I too have created an Uber-like system called "Jiffy it". There's no phone number to ring, just a website booking form, so there's no app to download, just Google JIFFY IT.
By using JIFFY IT, you are supporting local business and, in due course, taxi drivers wishing to improve their pay and working conditions.
Uber in the news yet again!
